Forums - Gaming - Most D&D like games?

I'm talking about format.

The closest I've seen are D&D tactics and Fallout 1&2.

Basically I consider games like to have two main functions

1) A chosen leveling system.   You pick how your player advances rather then it being predetirmined

2) A SRPG/Board grid like system.

Seeing if anyone knows of any others, because while i'm fond of regular SRPGs sometimes you feel like playing a game where you can build people up like that.  Where you choose their paths and such.

I've replayed Fallout and Fallout 2 about every way you can... and D&D tactics is fun but SLOOOOOOW paced.

Around the Network

baldurs gate i believe ran akin to ad&d. there is an old game for the snes that was virtual d&d.

when it comes down to it though id rather get a group together and play a real session of a pen and paper.

So would I... to far away from the few people I know who'd be up for it though.

It's a shame because I really like the oldschool gridbased turnbased gameplay, but all D&D games now seem to go ARPG based.
