Ummm....FF8 is a PS1 game not a PS2 game. PS1 games worked fine on the phat PS3's before and still work fine on the Slim PS3's. PS2 games are the problem.

are Slim PS3's backwards compatible with PSone games? (I didnt know that, if they are)
