Forums - Gaming - Rumor: Microsoft releasing the Natal this month. Can you Belive it?

Microsoft has said time and time again that it plans on releasing Natal in the fall. The giant has gone as far as to say it won’t even have playable games available for E3 but hopes to have some for The Tokyo Game Show (TGS).

Is it all a big lie? Could Microsoft upstage Sony with Natal just like it did when the Xbox 360 was released in 2005, one year before the PS3? Apparently that’s the case.

According to our most active user who goes by the name Nick, and seems to be extremely connected in Australia, has said that one of the workers at EB games told him that not only Microsoft’s Natal would be dubbed “Wave” at E3, the company would also announce that it’s being released this month!

Here’s Nick: “I went in to grab Blur and Alpha Protocol, the girl behind the desk asked me if i wanted to preorder anything else and i said well whats coming out? She said transformers, blah, blah, blah o and Project Natal.”

“I said Natal? Thats not due till the end of the year, they have a massive PR at E3 for it. She said yeah I know, she said they received an email from MS saying Project Natal would be dubbed ‘Wave” at E3 and released in June.

Nick said he knew Natal was dubbed Wave before the rumor broke unto the web so he don’t feel the she was bluffing.

Can this be true? It surely can. Rare has been working quietly behind the scenes on some Natal titles. Microsoft even announced today the rebranding of the company to make it look more casual, like lifestyle brand.

Anyway we’re in June, two weeks away from E3. We’ll know soon enough.

That would turn the entire videogame world (media, industry, gamers, etc) upside down.  Would be fun to watch!

I doubt it tho.

Then lets hope it happens :)

End of 2012 prediction:

xbox 360 : 73-75 million  playstation 3 : 72-74 million  wii : 104-105 million

Most hyped for :

Bioshock: infinte, The Last Of Us, Alan Wake's American Nightmare and Agent

My guess is that pre-orders will start in June.

Remember, this is a game shop employee from whom he is getting the information. The person may be well-connected. Or the person may be barely literate.  My guess is that it is just confusion over when selling will start (pre-sale), which is in line with the anticipated release schedule.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

No.

Nonsense, if you ask me.

Why would MS release it without having hyped it for at least 2-3 months? Also... releasing Natal so early could turn out the same way as the early release of the Xbox360 did... -> a huge failure rate.

Anyway... I expect  a release of Move in september and Natal in october.

Yeah, your theory makes sense. It is a good idea for Microsoft to release the Natal before Move but relesing it in June is so soon. We don't even know what games they want to release on launch.
