Well, it looks like Lost Odyssey won by a landslide! I appreciate the suggestions to save the best for last, and would be compelled to do so if I had not agreed to play whichever won the poll. So, it looks like I will be playing the best first!

Neither of them. The golden era of JRPGs died a few years back and they all still have the same crappy "Attack, Magic, Item" style of turn-based combat that led to the wild success of Diablo, Fallout, Baldur's Gate and other WRPGS who now dominate.

I suggest Borderlands.

I already beat Borderlands. On top of that, I enjoy the "Attact, Magic, Item turn based combat". Hence why I'm playing these games.
