What...? I'm in shock.

I am so freakin disappointed in you! You are not a very good friend.

The i5 750 is about 10% faster than the 955 for a 10% increase in total system price taking into account CPU and motherboard. In other words, a toss-up, and I wanted to use a little more of the $1100 for the second system.

Im not questioning your recommendation per se. Im just pro-AMD u know.

Now a question, or clarification. Would the system with the i5 750 really be a whole $100 more expensive than the X4 955 system?

(and that CPU is in fact only 10% faster than the AMD CPU?)

CPU is $40 more; motherboard is $50 more.

Performance is from the latest Tech Report review average, which I trust.

Thats also another good basis for a Starcraft compatible computer.

Alternatively you could always go after a laptop like for instance:

Tease.

I Spent $800 on a comp 2 and ah alf years ago (using a 4850 and e8400). that runs Starcraft 2 max settings at 1920x1080. 30 fps in 200 200 battles.

So you don't need much. I'd say go for a 5770 and an i5-750 and 4 gigs of ram, everything else is open to you.
