Forums - PC - Trouble installing some software.

Hi guys.

I am having trouble installing a piece of software.  The installshield sets up fine, and the installation begins, gets to the same spot about three quarters along, and then stops everytime.

I am running Vista and the program is:

Please offer any suggestions.

tried redownloading, rebooting... all the usual stuff ? (cause we all know you're a newbie so I still ask the question).

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

It is coming of a CD. It's a legit copy, bought at the store. I have emailed the company but they haven't gotten back.

I've tried shutting down all other programs and rebooting.

WTF?! Why are you learning Arabic? Why not Aborigine instead?

In any case you could try right click, proporties, compatibility and fiddle with a few of those settings like WinXP compatibility on the setup file on the disc.

Tease.

Thanks Squill, I am having a look at that now.

I have a number of Lebanese friends, with whom I may be travelling to the Middle East sometime next year. I'd just like to have enough to get by

Try right-clicking the installer and running as an administrator . Vista has some wierd permissions issues. Good for you learning a new language, but be carefull on your trip. There are lots of wackos over there.
