Forums - Gaming - Lost Planet movie ..... probably lost

There was a time when Capcom saw Lost Planet has the big new franchise. They dreamed about big sales "a la Resident Evil", they dreamed with a huge fanbase, AAA reviews, they dreamed with a movie ... a movie with 200 million budget..... seems like that's not going to happen.

Screenwriter (and videogame veteran) David Hayter told MTV that he penned a few drafts of the screenplay adaptation of the Capcom game, but that "internal issues" appear to have stalled the project.

"Lost Planet I thought was ideal [for a film adaptation] because it had this incredible visual world. Great suits of armor, great creatures, and its story was about energy—the dwindling energy resources of the Earth and how we're going to other planets to [solve that problem]," Hayter said. "So I thought it was really timely and the world was beautiful. And the other thing that I really felt as a screenwriter made it ideal for adaptation was, the original story in the game was ... not ... great."

Hayters gonna hayte.

best thing that could've happened! the video game to movie I give any credit to is Hitman, other than that they have all been horrid crap, and they have provided Uwe Bol with a career. I rather video games stick to consoles. though a Red Dead Redemption could be pretty hard to mess up
