I think that this will be pretty fly if they put it on the PSN. This alone would be adding something to the affect that would be a big thing. Having online cable should come at a cheaper price than what you get from the local cable company, because you dont have to hire a bunch of people to come and hook up your stuff, you just log onto your PS3 and they'll hook it all up remotely.
This could induce more people to buy PS3's when they see a cost savings for cable TV. The only disadvantage is that you'd probably have to buy a $90 device to hook up to your PC to plug into your tv (i'm guessing) accordign to a few of the articles. The plus is that if you had to choose between cable and digital cable, you could save $10 a month on the digital part b/c all of the work is done remotely by a big company rather than thousands of smaller ones just as walmart is saving you $$$ over the smaller mom and pop grocery stores, etc. Personally, I'm starting to be more and more proud of sony as a company, as they are really showing themselves to be a prettty dynamic competitor, and think that this could add a fair amount of sales per month, mabey 10-15K per month but that's my guess as well.
