Forums - Gaming - A question about console exclusives

when a game is on 1 console and PC its not exclusive and should not even be considered exclusive in a console X vs console Y comparison. I bought Gears of war 1, ME 1 + @ and L4D 1 for PC so far.. there's little need for me to get a 360 but Halo Reach, GOW3 and Alan Wake are games I am very much intrested in

Currently playing: MAG, Heavy Rain, Infamous

Getting Plat trophies for: Heavy Rain, Infamous, RE5,  Burnout and GOW collection once I get it.

The only use of the term 'console exclusive' is if you buy into the shallow fight of PS3 vs. 360. It's ignores of the rest of the gaming world.

I'm interested to see what Sony fanboys call the games that will only come out on the Wii and PS3 once Move comes out. HD motion control exclusive? Who knows, but all these adjectives are as some have pointed out shameless fronts.

What bugs me though is how in the Microsoft forum they sticky the 'The Official Xbox 360 Console Exclusive List' thread, it's as if the Microsoft forum itself ignores it's relation to the PC and Wii. It's clearly ammo used to defend against Sony suporters.

This isn't to say differentiating what the 360 has that the PS3 doesn't and vice versa isn't important information. If you are deciding between the two the distinction is insightful. But for a video-game website that encompasses all of gaming, I think it's sad to see 'console exclusives' as the 'official' list.

The term is used most buy 360 owners since Microsoft benefits from offering PC and 360 games most of their console exclusives should simply be said not available on Wii or PS3. On the other hand nearly all Wii and PS3 exclusives are true exclusives. Console exclusives is often used as a pejorative term to discredit other consoles. With that being said the only way to truly compare software lineups between the PS3 and 360 would be to include 'console exclusives'.
