No, putting an adjective in front of an "exclusive" to make it exclusive is retarded. If it's on the PC and 360, it's not an exclusive to anything.

Also, I'm the first person that brought it up in that thread. Win for me.

By that logic sickle cell disease isn't a "black exclusive" disease even though it's exclusive to blacks.

I don't get what you are trying to say I mean sickle cell disease isn't a black only disease, it's true that it only affects people of African decent but it is possible to have light skin and sickle cell.

Any time I see the phrase "console exclusive" I think "oh, this fellow is rather sensitive about sharing their entire game library with the PC and this bothers them so they made up a special term to feel better."

If you wanna compare PC's library to Mac's then knock yourself out, I guess.

It has steam now!!! :P

On topic - Every time I read the words 'console exclusive' I ignore them and replace them with 'I only care about showing that my console is superior to this other console'

Oh okay.  Since I don't know much about Steam (except the general idea of it), can Mac play all of the PC games now? Even if they're labeled Games for Windows?

Alas, it doesn't mean that. The basic steam platform is now on mac, but the amount of games available via steam on the mac is still quite limited. Even though the content delivery system works on a mac, each individual game must be made to run on a mac before it will be added to the mac steam store

Games for Windows is run by Microsoft and will never be available to Mac users, nor will any games for windows games be available through steam (MS is trying to push their own content delivery system to rival steam)

Im not bothered by the term.

Tease.

And everytime I see someone belittling those who use the term, I kindly point them to the rules and tell them to kindly shove it.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Sorry.  I've just always read "console exclusive" as "almost exclusive" or "80% exclusive" and felt it was an unnecessary term.  I know it's allowed, but I don't know why anybody would use it.  ::kindly shoves it::

@ OP, It's sad really, that people continue to troll console exclusives as not being such even though they are only on one console. The issue is posters often forget to say "console" when implying that a game is an exclusive, and even though it is obvious what these posters meant, a bunch of trolls and fanboys exploit (or are too stupid to understand) this unfortunate semantics error.

Actually, you are incorrect. A PC is NOT a console, therefore a game that is on a console and a PC is technically a console exclusive. BTW, I pioneered a thread a few months back that argued this point and soon after, it became a forum rule. Guess my argument was pretty substantial. Oh, and BTW I have yet to argue about what games are console exclusive and what are not, Also, my posting history has been fairly unbiased, I have even gone so far as to defend other platforms while giving fanboys an argument that actually made sense...so quite honestly, I don't have a dog in the fight. I just hate to see people unable to comprehend a very simple concept. Anywho, for your reading pleasure I give you...

Flamebait and trolling. Posts slamming a particular platform without basis - be it a specific console, macs, windows, or anything similar - will not be tolerated.

  • The forums are here for gamers of all persuasions, so unless you're in a thread specifically geared towards platform comparison/discussion, keep your anti-platform comments out of the thread. Note that there is a difference between having a reasonable argument in the correct thread and trolling.
  • Similarly, do not create threads just to bait people of a specific fan group. Bait threads without basis will be locked and you will be moderated for them. If you spend a lot of time making hit-and-run negative threads about a specific platform you will also be moderated at the discretion of the moderators.
  • Do not call a game that is not exclusive an exclusive. This is considered trolling. This includes PC and console multiplats. For full details on this read this topic.Mods will be lenient about accidentally mislabeling a game you were uninformed about to some extent, but know what you are posting about. Repeat offenses of this will result in moderation.

I think you kinda missed the point of the thread there I am asking if people that consider games that are on PC and consoles to be (console) exclusives think it's ok to list all those games as PC exclusives. If not why the double standard.

why even bother with this semantics issue when there is no competing platform for PC?
