Forums - Gaming - A question about console exclusives

when reading this thread: http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=110083&page=1 where the point of console exclusives came up again, most of the complaints steamed from the fact that the OP never mentioned "console" just exclusives.

But anyway while reading the thread I ended up asking myself a question, if games that come out on the PC and a console can be considered "console exclusives" does that mean that all games can be considered PC exclusives even if they are on a console?

So what do you guys think?

I have to say if the game is on PC and a console then the game is not exclusive since you can play the game on more then one device.

No, putting an adjective in front of an "exclusive" to make it exclusive is retarded. If it's on the PC and 360, it's not an exclusive to anything.

Also, I'm the first person that brought it up in that thread. Win for me.

yes but there are a lot of people that think that it's fine to call games console exclusives when they are on PC (I think it's stupid) and I would like to know if those people would be Ok with all games on PC being called PC exclusives as they seem to think that PCs are separate from consoles for some reason.

An exclusive is a game on one platform. A multiplatform game is a game on more than one platform. PC is a viable gaming platform. Therefore, "console exclusives" don't exist. They're either exclusive or multiplat.

So we should start calling Multiplat HD titles...HD Exclusive?

I dont think so.

By don't see why people see them as separate. Hell, even Wikipedia calls the PC a "console", so they are the same basic thing as far as gaming is concerned.

If you wanna compare PC's library to Mac's then knock yourself out, I guess.

It has steam now!!! :P

On topic - Every time I read the words 'console exclusive' I ignore them and replace them with 'I only care about showing that my console is superior to this other console'

oh I agree but I want to know whether people that consider games as "console exclusives" consider all PC games exclusives obviously in an ideal world people would only consider games that are only on one platform exclusives. But we live in a world where some people seem to think that being on the PC doesn't mean it can't be a console exclusive and I want to know if those people consider all PC games to be exclusives.

By that logic sickle cell disease isn't a "black exclusive" disease even though it's exclusive to blacks.
