And on topic...it was a really emotional moment for me when the show ended almost exactly in reverse of the opening moments in season 1.

That montages from previous seasons = nostalgia overload made me realize how far the characters have come since the crash.

Oh yes, totally.  And the part where Vincent came and, instead of running by like at the very beginning, he sat down beside Jack... I mean I almost never tear up when I watch something emotional, but...

I don't understand people that wanted every little detail explained in full. Half the fun of the show was the mystique of the island. They explained what they needed to imo and I was satisfied with the ending.

Bit pants but then I never really liked Lost.  I'm not into low level fake mystique myself - I mean it was well written and acted from what I saw, but the basic approach doesn't appeal.

Lost is in the tradition of the appearance of depth vs actual depth

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

People who don't like the finale don't understand what LOST was all about. If you thought they were going to explain everything in 2 hours, you missed out on what the makers of the show did. They gave you everything you needed and left the rest to your interpretation. I love that in shows/movies. Some of the greatest movies of all time: Gone with the Wind, No Country for Old Men, Silence of the Lambs, The Shawshank Redemption, Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King left things for you to interpret. It's what makes you think about the movie/show years after the it's over. Great ending.
