Well, I mentioned it earlier to somebody and it got me thinking. Is there any psychology behind it?

Not at all, it just depends how you handle it. One easy test, even though it isn't a 100% confirmation, is that you ask yourself if you ever imagined being together with one of the girls. Did you ever had a fantasy (doesn't have to be dirty) or are you thinking about one girl for long? If yes to one or more questions, then you are most likely straight.
However if you talk with the girls more about other boys, or, for example, was jealous when one of the girls kissed their boyfriend, then you should think about your bias.

c'mon dude thats silly....of course it doesnt make you gay, though other ppl might perceive you to be gay. Its just mental thing maybe you perfer the company of women or you get along better with them.

oh no no, it's strictly friendship. That's what concerns me.
fyi I have a girlfriend.
but at school I'd prefer the company of my female friends. And when I plan to go out to a movie or drinking etc etc... I rarely ask my guy friends first.

In all honesty, it could very well just be your circle of friends. One of my circles of friends, the girls are geeky and fun to be around, easy to talk to about geeky things and are just all around chill people. The guys in that circle the other hand, are still geeky, but would rather talk about how much they'd like to get some stupid girl they always long for but will never get (generally it's one of my best friends which creates an awkward situation) and when you try to talk about geeky things, they get super defensive if it's anything that isn't their preference. I generally just like to piss people like that off, so I guess that's the real reason why I hang out with girls so much more often then guys. lol. |

It's harder for me to communicate with male friends because they can get so defensive sometimes and all I really want is stress free hang out time with friends. Girls on the other hand are more opened minded and more laid back.

Most of my guy friends are stuck on some things I just hate. One of them calls all females bitches even if he likes them. If some cutie is walking down the street they find the best idea is to yell something at them no matter the age. A lot of my guy friends hate homosexual males, but think homosexual females are awesome. WTF? They do more than this, but I have been friends with some of them along time and they are there when I need help with something.
I have always liked hanging with my female friends better. They understand my goals in life and do not mock them. They are a hell of a lot more open than my guy friends. I also happen to be dating one that I have known for over 15 years. It is one of the best things to happen to me in along time and I never would have guessed we would ever went out.
