it's a console feature?
if so i'd say it's good, probably spits out a bit of dust. and the elements are not active so you provably don't hurt them much.
I wouldn't do it on a warm system though... dunno why but I wouldn't.

dito. and on that note? look it's, about to fly away! sounds more like a jet taking off? this just in. PS3 powerful enough to power a jet!
u can do it ,but do n't abuse it.
it sends a signal that the ps3 it's overheating when isn't and fan goes full power.
but then u can screw the sensors.
It's just running the fan at max speed for a few seconds. Even PC fans can be very noisy when running wide open. (PC has software where you can change fan speeds) Nothing to worry about unless the PS3 is getting so hot it has to run the fan at full speed. If that is the case then system probably need to be clean out.
The downside of running the fans this fast is noise as well as sucking in more dust.
Wouldn't recommend it. Plus its only for 40GB I THINK since my 60GB doesn't do it.
I would not do that if i had a ceramic white ps3 personally, but as long as the fan still works after i dont see a problem it just really loud for a minute or so.
