Forums - Microsoft - Rock Band Green Day demo

Anyone tried it?

Has Boulevard of Broken Dreams (fun, but quite easy) and Welcome to Paradise (kind of challenging for me, at least - has a difficult breakdown in middle.)

I have to say, the demo did the trick for me.  Loved the visuals.  As a fan who has seen them live a few times, it captures them pretty well.  I found myself watching them and missing notes - never really done that much before, even with the Beatles.   And it made me want play more of their stuff, and I guess that's the goal.

Seems like these will be great songs for people like me.  I don't mind relatively simple tracks if they are fun to play, and their stuff has been, on here and DLC.  Songs that make you feel like a rock star to play.  And I haven't been motivated to do anything but sing and guitar for awhile, but drumming these was super fun.  (Though I only play drums on medium and I still suck, whereas I sing and do guitar/bass on hard/expert depending on song.)

Going to be a great game for fans, but I wondered what non-Green Day fans perhaps thought of it.

Can't wait to play the American Idiot and Dookie albums straight through.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Wow. I love Greenday. I didnt know this was coming. Will definately look into this.

Gonna pick it up day 1, don't need the demo to convince me.

Now if only we could get a Rockband AC/DC, that would be amazing.

Wow I haven't heard anything about a greenday rock band.  I'll download the demo...probably won't buy the game though.

i heard it shows a new peripheral at the end, a keyboard!

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

I am not excited for the keyboard...

I'm excited if there is more focus on their older music? Do they go back to 1039/Sloppy Hands and Kerplunk or does it start a Dookie and follow the downward spiral down? Is the career mode from beginning to end or is it just random songs? Sorry, I'm interested but not holding my breath on the older music. x.o

Green Day and Harmonix were not able to secure rights to early material, in that Green Day, among others, have had all kinds of legal battls over the Lookout Records stuff.

As for "downward spiral" that is clearly a relative term/opinion.   As a longtime Green Day fan (pre-Dookie - - I'm old), American idiot is by far my favorite record.  And while I don't love evry song from 21st Century, a few of them are among my favorites.  I can easily say I'm most looking forward to playing American Idiot straight through, and I absolutely can NOT wit to play Jesus of Suburbia over and over and over and over....

12 of those 47 songs make me want to puke. I know most of the others, but I'm not sure that 35 songs is worth my $60... and the fact that those garbage songs will be in my possesion/on my harddrive.... and take up a large potion of the game.

EDIT: Oh, sorry I meant $70. forgot about the $10 fee... So I probably won't be paying $2 per song (that I like). I'll probably do the same thing I did with Guitar Hero: Smash Hits, and wait about a year and find it on ebay for >$20.

Played the demo it was all right, I'll probably get it in August when it'll be like half the price. GreenD Day are pretty good, 21st century breakdown isn't though

I haven't tried the actual stuff but saw it already alot of times. I really like "Pulling Teeth" and "Basket Case".
