The AP’s reporting that Bungie’s confirmed release dates for the western and Japanese versions of Halo: Reach, adding that 2.7 million people played game’s beta, which has now ended.

Reach will release on September 14 in the west and September 15 in Japan

Players collectively logged more than 16 million hours and more than 1.1 billion virtual kills during the 18-day beta, said the firm.

Bungie had already said that it saw more people log onto the Reach beta in one day than it did in the entire Halo 3 beta.

I just wish they'd make the release official though

xbox 360 : 73-75 million  playstation 3 : 72-74 million  wii : 104-105 million 

Most hyped for :

Bioshock: infinte, The Last Of Us, Alan Wake's American Nightmare and Agent

It says on OXM that September 14th is the release date for europe aswell

That is some serious numbers for just a beta. There are quite a few great FULL retail games that haven't sold 2.7 milion + LT let alone just a beta.

I predict a very high number of day 1 copies, and I predict Reach to be 360's highest selling game ver. Beating out both MW2 and Halo 3.

Also It's inevitable that Reach will be the most played title on Live when it releases for like 2-3 years.

It was an amzing Online experience though. Nothing close to it.

i really enjoyed the beta, its by far the best halo online experience ive ever played never cared for the others but im definitely buying reach so much fun man

Do you mean EVERY single week? cos I'm pretty sure when MW3 releases (and it will) that'll nab the top spot for the entire holiday.

No not every week. I to expect a spike for games like MW3. But Reach will come back on top after MW3 intial 3 or 4 weeks dies down. Halo 3 did it to MW1 and MW2. Although MW2 has done better. But I expect Halo Reach to still be hitting top spot 2 years after release on Live.
