Forums - Sony - Will SONY pay VALVE for PS3 support??

Sony wanted to money hat Valve but Sony's secretly paying Square for an up coming FFVII remake to be PS3 exclusive worldwide to be released multiplat on its final year of production lol

Meh, their better off saving their money for something better. Vavle may be great developer's, but their highest selling game on the 360 is Left 4 Dead at 2.74 million. That's not worth the time and effort on Sony's part. If it was Rockstar, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Bungie, then it'd probably be worth it.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

I'm not that into shooters, but i know there are some good ones out there for those who like them. and the PS3 has more than enough shooters for the market at the moment. in my opinion they dont need valve, unless valve make other games other than shooters. Do they??

but we'll see, i doubt valve would go exclusive, and i dont think sony would pay them a penny, so i think it will be valve who take the first step really, if any steps are taken at all?

Wel... I am a noob gamer and PS3 is first choice (PC second, but I can´t use PC all the time as I can PS3), I played ORANGE BOX and Second LIFE 2 is really amazing despite the bugs.

My hope... play Episode 3 on PS3... this is my hope... :)

Some people really bash them... for saying PS3 isn´t interesting to develop, maybe they are right following theyr steps over PC community... but I am really disapointed with theyr position :(...

PSN: franco-br
MGS4, GH, MW2, GT5p, WipeoutHD, etc..etc..

If Sony is going to pay someone it should be Square-Enix or ATLUS. Their 1st Party JRPGs are lacking so if they can't do it they should pull a Microsoft and buy the support

Sony let support of the JRPG genre go this generation as it appears they wanted to totally get all of what Microsoft had, and target the FPS genre.  They focused on that, and figured the JRPG stuff would show up.  Conversely, Microsoft went after it, in addition to still staying on the FPS genre also.  End result is that JRPGs have not been this strong this generation, because apparently the console maker interested in them (Microsoft) isn't the console maker JRPG fans have been interested in.

my english is no better but it would be possible. on the other hand i don't think sony will. but it is a good way to get them use to it so that they will do it without having to be paid to do so.

good point

Why should Sony pay Valve for exclusives it would run like crap anyway, valve doesn't know how to develop in anything other than direct x, have you played any of their stuff on the MAC? It's garbage.

No, Sony should spend their money on something more useful than a Valve game.

Well, since they have only released Portal so far for the Mac (which runs ultra smooth at 1920 x 1200 on my Dual 3.06GHz iMac thanks), your argument it complete shite.

It would be a complete waste of money. No disrespect to Valve, but there are so many projects that are more deserving of Sony's money.
