Sony Shipping New PlayStation 3 Hardware

A Sony spokesperson confirmed to IGN the company has now begun shipping new PlayStation 3 models to North America that include a 40nm RSX graphics chip.

The smaller chip allows the console to run cooler, consume less power, and, presumably, help Sony reduce manufacturing cost of the system. If you're on the lookout for the new unit, the model number is "CECH-2101A."

It's still the same price, It just means Sony are now making profit on every ps3 sold, which is very good news, as they can start making back on that big loss they posted

I want to replace my phat ps3 with this new slim but I need at least 250gb. Got a lot of tv programmes and films recored via Play tv. Will wait 1-2 mths to make sure that new slims are on the shelves.

it would probably be best for you to buy a 120gb, then with the £35 you save not buying the 250gb put it towards a 320gb HDD

that one is £39:99 so altogether your paying the same price for the 250gb but with more HDD space

Then back up all your games save on the 120gb you took out keep it as spare or even sell it on ebay and make some more money back

Thats what im hoping for anyways maybe the next 2 weeks we will se higher US HW sales
