Forums - General - So who's watching the final episode of LOST?

That is interesting, so your enjoyment of the show for the first five seasons was based on the assumption that the mysteries would be paid off at the end of the show? Do you think in the future when the disappointment of the finale/final season aren't so fresh that you will be able to look back and say 5/6 of the show was awesome so overall it was a great show, or do you think being disappointed by the final season ruins the show forever for you?

Also, they've announced one of the features on the final season DVD that there will be a 20-30 minute segment where they address unanswered questions on the show, which I'm sure will be posted online. If they address the questions you are interested in that, will that cause you to rethink your opinion on the final season?

If my comment sounds critical of your point-of-view that is not what I intend, I'm really just enjoying talking to someone who had a different opinion on the show, and trying to understand that opinion.

^ Yep, my enjoyment of the past seasons was based on the assumption that in the end the mysteries would be resolved, and that the answers were going to be something truly amazing, original and thought provoking. Without that the rest of the show was just a waste (at least for me).

As for the DVD thing, I'm not gonna be wasting any money on anything related to this show. I have no interest in any "answers" that couldn't be deduced from what hapened in the show. It's not like for example the Mulholland Drive DVD, which gave you clues about what to pay attention to when watching the movie to deduce what really happened. Basically all the answers were in the movie, you just had to pay really close attention to what was happening. In the case of Lost the answers are not in the show. You can't deduce them by just watching the show cause they just aren't there. I want to be able to deduce the answers from watching the show, not be told by the writers "See the island actually was...", which in the end has about as much relevance to the show as the fact that Dumbledore is gay to the Harry Potter books.

If you can't deduce it from watching the show it doesn't matter!
