Forums - Gaming Discussion - Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Map Pack details

Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling has revealed the five Modern Warfare 2 maps which will be featured on the Resurgence Pack DLC, confirming that the pack will be comprised of 3 new maps and two remakes when the pack hits the Xbox 360 this June.

The five maps included in the package will be Vacant, Strike, Carnival, Trailer Park and Fuel, with Bowling going into detail on Major Nelson's podcast explaining the particulars of each map.

Carnival is the first of the new maps and the one Bowling explained that he was "especially excited for".

Carnival is a desolate amusement park arena which apparently has been in development since Modern Warfare 2's release late last year. Players will be able to pick up their guns and go nuts through a number of areas including the "fun house, roller-coaster, world of tomorrow, game stand, castle and dodgem cars."

"It's just an awesome place to fight in," exclaimed Bowling. "When you're taking fire from a giant clown mouth it's just awesome."

For those of you keen for something a little more trashy, the second new map entry is Trailer Park which depicts, you guessed it "a good old American trailer park." Bowling, explained that this map is like a maze and that it will consist of "super-tight corridors" between the mobile homes with a number of shortcuts peppered throughout a series of abandoned trailers, making taking out the trailer trash a sneaky endeavour.

Lucky last of the new maps is Fuel, a wide open map which is based around an oil refinery and said to be an absolute sniper's paradise.

Rounding out the five maps are the two converted Call of Duty 4 entries Vacant and Strike. Bowling advised that both of these maps will have new visuals, new atmosphere and "a lot more detail" as they have been tinkered around with from their original forms to mix up the gameplay.

Finally, Bowling also confirmed that the Resurgence Pack will be dropping in at the expected price point of 1200 Microsoft Points when it's available on Xbox Live on 3 June. You can check out the first images of the maps in our media panel below.
