Like last generation for instance I enjoyed KH games and ToS far more than FFX and FFXII, and Dragon Quest VIII was my favorite RPG. This generation I can't help but have mostly apathy towards the main series FF Games. I'm probably just a bit pessimistic, but it's hard to be motivated for them.
Now Tales of Symphonia...THAT game had one amazing cast of characters that fit together so well with each other

Well, I love Dark Cloud 2, far more than FFX and FFXII incidentally, but Tales of Innocence and DQIX are my biggest RPGs of 08 by far.  ToI is looking insanely awesome.  The graphics are far better than anything on the DS to date.  The game is fully Voice Acted (even in incidental convrsations), it has gorgeous art, anime cutscenes, and the music is kickass. Check out the Tales trailer.  Freaking epic.

 

 

DQIX I'm looking forward to because I'm a huge DQ fanboy and loved DQVIII.  Plus of course the idea of Wi-Fi multiplayer and fully customizable characters is pretty awesome. Oh and I forgot It's a Wonderful World.  That game looks indescribably awesome.

 I dunno, I tried my hardest to get into Dragon Quest ;-; I even really like Akira Toriama, but man o' man that game just seemed frustratingly bland >< it seemed to have a battle system that was made familiar with in the NES era :/ I guess its just personal taste lol.
