Kefka wasn't feminine until they put him in GC....that was NOT how I pictured the great Kefka with the amazing laugh when I first played FFVI back on SNES.

Yeah I guess. Anyway, VII isn't really my major complaint as far as girly characters. Even VII was (mostly) okay in that. Even though their appearances were a bit girly, their attitudes weren't. That was fine. Then we have X and XII with Tidus and Vaan... *shudder.*

well I'm not really fond of girly characters either. I had a hard time taking Squall seriously with his tight leather pants and feathered womens jacket that was 5 sizes too small for him. Plus his personality just sucked.

But hey XIII is starring a chick and I think she looks badass so far. I also prefer the futuristic setting as opposed to medieval setting of the earlier FF games.

You love bashing Cloud don't you? I'm sure she wont be exactly like Cloud, but it does seem like Kitase only knows how to make 1 type of character...a depressed moody emo person that never wants to do what they're supposed to do. Maybe he'll switch things up this time around.

All this FF talk is making me want to play an FF game, or at the very least listen to the music. I think I'll do that now. random play list on all FF music!

Well I don't hate Cloud, I just don't like him haha.  It's not like Tidus, Vaan, and Squall.  I truly hate them. 

well we can't all love Cloud. Seems like that's enough FF talk for me for the night, this has been the first really good discussion I've had here so thanks to yall for that.

I have to agree with the androgyny it's fine when it's used in a villain it even adds to the creepy factor of them Kuja wasn't really a person he was the same as Zidane actually, a genome. Genome: A race of soulless beings on Terra, created by Garland to be the vessels for the sleeping souls of Terra after Gaia was assimilated. Kuja, Zidane, and Mikoto are technically Genomes, but Garland gave them souls, thus making them mortal. (Genomes are immortal) Kuja freaked out because he was no longer immortal and tried to destroy everything, basically. The a-gender worked fine for him because he wasn't supposed to be masculine, he wasn't even human. But on characters clearly masculine and meant to be manly men that come out with a girlish vibe like Cloud irritate the hell out of me.

I guess after almost a decade of being disappointed with FF games I have a hard time having much anticipation for them anymore. I find myself caring about other RPGs which from a review standpoint aren't considered as good so much more...

Like last generation for instance I enjoyed KH games and ToS far more than FFX and FFXII, and Dragon Quest VIII was my favorite RPG. This generation I can't help but have mostly apathy towards the main series FF Games. I'm probably just a bit pessimistic, but it's hard to be motivated for them.

off topic: White Knight Story is going to pwn every RPG in 2008 including FFXIII if its released.
