Why are the sales of the PS2 not on the front page? I know the PS2 isn't really next gen, but it's certainly current gen and still being sold. Actually it does rather well and it's a shame it's underlighted on a site that promotes itself as having "the most comprehensive videogames charts in the world". No insult intended btw

Are you talking about games sales, or systems sales? Everyone knows the PS2 dominated the last gen. Anybody that's curious can just go to the systems comparisons chart. As for competing with the 360, the Wii, and the PS3--- Part of me is inclined to believe that the PS2's FIVE YEAR HEAD START is a little less than fair.

It is still tracked isnt it?...so that negates your point about "most comprehensive"

however putting it on the front pag seems silly when it is last generation, The point is that those are the consoles of THIS generation....If you want to argue the PS2 being on the front page, then in truth both the GameCube and the Gameboy Advance are still selling, just because the PS2 is selling more doesn't give it a place in this generation.

Yeah, good idea, lets just add up the numbers from both "current gen" playstations as both are sold by Sony.

The PS2 is a last generation console, although its still being sold because its a great console. The demand is obviously still there and that's why it's still here!

The GC and GBA is still being sold currently as well. They're both last generation plaforms as well. Would you like those platforms to be added as well? No, the demand for the GBA and GC may not be as good as the PS2 (more likely dead in this case) but according to this site both platforms are still selling.

Perhaps you have a point about the Gamecube and gb still being sold, but to my knowledge both don't have tons of games coming out in the near future or is there still any publicity about it. Can't remember seeing any gameboy advance commercial lately, but the PS2 is still actively being advertised.

Any product that is actively sold and promoted is a part of the market and should get credit for that. If the PS2 had a X year head start is irrelevant, at least that's what I keep hearing if I mention the 360 had a year head start over the PS3 and Wii.

Both the DS and PSP were released before the next gen, as you refer it too. Their sales should be hidden too, according to your logic.

Nah. The DS and the PSP are actually supposed to be the heralds of the 7th video game generation........along with the Nokia N-Gage. From that point on, it's all fair game.

I think we should put on the front page sales numbers for "PlayStation familiy".

Handhelds and Consoles should be judged differently. The DS/PSP are in the current gen as are the 360, PS3 and Wii. Once the next Handheld is released then the new gen will start. I think that the current gen is the most current iteration of each companies system. Sony's new system is PS3 so i gets top billing this gen.
