Forums - Sony - PlayStation Move controller priced at $60 in Canada

Smashed said:

You completely ignored what I said about buying multiple controllers.

I said (~)$120 which means approximate.

Why would you EXPECT it to be cheaper anyways? We don't live in the time where things come around so cheap anymore, ESPESCIALLY in the gaming industry, where you're paying $60+ tax for a game.

If you think over $100 is "expensive" then you've got another thing coming..

Again, I couldn't care if it was $60, it's like buying a regular controller.

Yea but you don't need two controllers per a person, thats what everyone is getting at.

Overall Natal looks like it will be more casual friendly since its just plug and play but we have to see how the feedback lag and pricing for natal is.

wii mote plus wii motion + = 60$ in canada
and the nunchuck is 25$
so I was expecting the same price for the move, Sony need to bundle the entire thing with the ps3 in a bundle for 299$ as a casual bundle

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

This doesn't seem too expensive. $300 for the PS3. $50 for a DS3. $200 for all of the Move stuff and you are good to go. So just $550, which is about what PS3 costs when it first came out.

Does anyone here actually know if the Move controller comes with a Sub controller. Maybe it's $60 for both?

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

It is just too expensive imo.

How much would it be for two controllers and two nunchucks and a camera then?

the USA price will be lower

You can get an Eye for $30 in US and Dualshock for $45.These are the standalone prices that Sony charge and make huge profit on them.

As Move is exactly what DS3 is with a Ball and some sensors and excluding one part of DS3,it should cost as much as DS3.

Also to push Move,Sony will price a bundle of Move,Nunchuck,Game,Eye around $80-100

They could also price the standalone lower to counter NATAL.

Eye is old and Manufacture cost is around $20

Move manufacture costs will be around $30 as is the same with DS3.

Nunchuck is basically one side of DS3 nothing else,it would cost around $20

Game is first Patry and will be free.

^^^^^^^^these are all max prices these products cost to manufacture. They could be less but it is safe to say a medium higher figure is taken.

i was thinking about that but many people denied and pulled my hopes down

For games that require two glow sticks, I'm fairly certain they will sell the game bundled with an additional Move controller for $60. Otherwise very few people would bother getting that game if they have to double the price to get the additional controller.

It's comparable to boxing on the Wii where you have to buy another Wii Remote and a Nunchuk if you want to play a two-player game.

And not that Sony cannot change their mind and charge more, but at GDC 2010 they already said they would have a bundle with a Move controller, PS Eye and a game for less than $100 (most likely $99 and no one said anything about the Nav).

Sony has already said that Move will use Bluetooth, lithium ion batteries and feature rumble. Because it is so similar to a DS3, I expect it to retail for the same price ($54.99).

They also said you can save your money and just use a DS3 or Sixaxis in place of the Nav.

What's my incentive for getting Move if I have a Wii already? I'm obviously not going to sell my Wii to get Move because I want the games on the Wii, not to mention there are already a shit ton of shovel wares to choose from on the Wii already! I'm not going to spend the money just so I can play UC3 with it when DS3 works just fine or spend money on a party games that wastes the space of blu-ray which would give me heart attacks at night when I even dream about it. People who already have a Wii pretty much have no incentive to get Move. Not to mention I got my Wiimotes for like 15 bucks each because I'm awesome at shopping.

Its very expensive. Its a lot of money to just be able to play a few titles and these titles may or may not be of questionable quality. Comparing the cost of a single DS3 and the opportunities it brings for two player gaming, the value is obviously in favour of a DS3 over a $100 Move pack.

I am suspicious that Sony won't have any truly awesome games for Move until next year and the adoption rate will be a slow burn which will probably be enough to see to it that anyone who buys a Move pack will likely be disappointed by its gaming opportunities given the proximity to the next generation.

The PS3 will not be the Wii HD, the next generation Nintendo console will be just that. If you want to save your pennies you may as well go next generation Nintendo than slum it with the PS Move.
