I got it on friday after having some video card problems. I am disappointed by this since i was looking froward to playing ivasion on halo reach. Oh well, i have decided to now move onto ps3. This was my 4th xbox 360. I really wish microsoft took their time in making this and not put random parts together to make a ticking time bomb. How many xbox 360s have you been through and will you move onto the ps3 if you get the rrod?

Luckily I still got mine for 2 years now. Cross fingers...

1 and that's it. RROD but, microsoft was very good about about it and sent it back within a week.  2 years now without breaking. They were quite reasonable and I dislike microsoft for other reasons. But I needed lost odyssey, fable and gears :P

This was 6 months after I got it though. it's been good ever since. I've never had a console break on me besides that, even my ps2 didn't break. I've only played lost odyssey on it recently, as mass effect 2 came out on PC

Ive never had a console break on me during its release years. In fact all but my Atari still work pretty good. Even if Xbox had a few games I really really wanted I would never buy one because of its fail rate. How and why in the world you dealt with 4 I will never understand.

LOL - Mine RROD'd on me when on the last disc of Lost Odyssey, there was no way in hell I was waiting a few weeks to get my 360 back, so I sent it in and bought an arcade for $199, and I also got 2 free games (one of which I was going to buy anyhow) and when my refurb 360 came back I sold the arcade to my buddy for $100, so really with the 2 games I got I really wasn't "out" any (much) money.

personally, ive had 5 broken ps3s, twice not covered by a warranty. and only 1 broken 360 which was covered by warranty. 5 times this gen and all the others the previous two gens...is enough to make me say no to sonys next generation console out of hand. so it would probably take a few out of warranty breakdowns for me to switch to my unloved but still seemingly reliable wii as my primary gaming console for the remainder of this generation.

of course then next generation my primary console will likely be microsofts next console. my original xbox works perfectly still, never had any issues with it. so it would take a couple generations of failures, like with sony, to give up on them completely.

You didn't buy 4 360s so stop acting like you did. Nice troll thread. You don't have a PS3 but you have Nathan Drake as your picture? At least try changing your pic when creating a troll thread to seem somewhat believable. I could easily make a thread saying I went through 4 PS3s.

Mine RROD 2 years ago but MS was quick to fix it so I cannot complain. Anyway, enjoy your PS3 as your favourite console that will never break.

My first model 360 RROD on me twice but both times replaced for free. I sold it Nov 09 and bought an Elite in Nov 09 and it was manufactured in Oct 09. No problems yet. I also bought a PS3 Slim in November 09 and so far so good though both have frozen on me in rare cases. PS3 is definately better built.
