So I loaded up Steam this morning to see a message that Modern Warfare 2 is getting yet another free weekend with a double xp weekend going on as well. The pre-load should currently be available. I've personally lost interest in the series and became quickly tired of the experience when I downloaded the game during the free weekend they did a month ago so I don't think I'll be doing it again, but this is still another chance to play for those who weren't sure about it and wanted to try it out.

Be aware that you'll be looking at a HUGE download to the tune of ~10-12 gigs before you can play it. Also, unless they changed the pre-load from the last free weekend, expect the pre-load to only download half of the game leaving you with the other half to download once the free gameplay time actually starts.

I spent an hour and a half playing last time this happened, and all it did was confirm that the game is shit. It all stems from the lack of dedicated servers and SDK really.

As an avid pc gamer, the game is pretty good. But I stopped playing months ago, so there's no chance they will get me back into it.

I thought the core gameplay itself was good but the complete lack of servers ruined it for me. Lag like a motherfucker, everyone bitches at you if you're host and all anyone plays are search and destroy and team deathmatch.
