Halo Wars has got a 82 on Metacritic and I had the most fun with this game (hundreds of hours over XLive) next to BF BC2 and MassEffect.

Allan Wake has at the moment a 84 - what I want to say is:

This game can be fun. There is no game that needs a 90+ to make fun. It's all up to YOU - if you like it or not.

@Slimebeast:

YOU ARE A PUSSY!

Well if that's true, let me introduce you to the greatest gaming machine ever, where you can play your favourite games that doesn't suck due to poor controls:

DAT PC! Enjoy your RTS's the way they were ment to be played!

How about you play before troll.

A game praised for finally giving an rts controls that work on a console and you say the controls sucked?

Will everyone stop trying to convince PS3 owners that mid 80's is a good score and still worth buying.

They aren't going to buy it.

Guys... Are you really caring for a bunch of critics?
Even critics rely on their own tastes...

Alan Wake is definitely a notable game! So... Let's buy it and enjoy. After we can discuss about the game!

lol Every time there is a thread strictly discussing the critic reviews, someone comes to the thread and then acts shocked when people are discussing critic reviews.  And, it's always this same "who cares what they think" comment.  SOME PEOPLE CARE.  If you don't want to discuss this topic don't come to the thread about it.

My point is not fighting. There is nos problem discussing it!

It's like i said: Even critics rely on their own tastes... So, It's kinda hard for me, and many here to believe them

Nice to see you are VERY³³ polite with someone you don't even know. Pay attention next time you try being such an idiot, CAUSE YOU CAN!

Wow.  First of all ,I have yet to see anyone fight. (besides you and me now lol)

Second, that was a complete overreaction.  I don't think I was being impolite but if that's how it came across then I apologize I just see the same type of comment a lot and it annoys me and I took it out on you.  However, I certainly didn't straight up insult you as you did to me.

But enough tears have been shed over this argument so lets just drop it yes? Good.  Great. Grand.

AW at an 84 now. I don't think it's going to hit AAA anymore. :(

you know what pees me off the fact that people are so obsessed with games being over 90 nowadays, i mean back in the ps2 days you knew that if it was over 7 there was still a really good chance that you would enjoy it, on both sides i have seen games classified as "flops" if they did not score over 90 or did not sell well, i really do not like this trend, we should just all chill out and learn to enjoy our games and forget about being obsessed with scores and sales

Well unless you have a boatload of money, then you do need to pay attention to review scores because they are supposed to help you make your purchasing decisions.

That said, I am willing to make allowances for games in genres I like to get lower review scores. Japanese rpgs with really cute characters, I'm willing to check out as long as they have scores of 75 or over.

And, I spend a lot of my weekend hours watching horror movies on the SyFy Channel that quite a few critics probably wouldn't give good marks to them, but they're some of my favorite tv programming. (Been meaning to catch Happy Town on ABC, but I've missed its first two weeks. :( )

Anyway, Alan Wake still looks to be the best realistic (ie. it doesn't take place in outer space) horror game to be released this gen (other than the RE4 remake on Wii), so I'm very definitely still willing to check it out.

NO!

No no no no no no no!

You've completely missed the point. You don't have to just pay attention to review scores. That's why I like Kotaku.

You have to READ the review. Reviews are based largely on personal opinion. A review score from Gamespot written by Kevin Van Ord is more so his review than it is "Gamespot's".

For example, G4TV's Adam Sessler does not like RE5. If a game comes out that's just like RE5, Adam is going to be predisposed to have negative feelings towards the game. Things that he may mention in his review as flaws in the game might not affect you. For example, Despite the 3/5 review Adam gave the game. None of the problems he mentioned affected me, as RE5 was one of the best co-op experiences I've had in recent memory.

And then there's Infinite Undiscovery. Extremely unique game; panned by critics.

So no, do not pay attention to the review scores. Go to your favorite gaming websites, read the reviews, analyze them, and verify if any of the complaints-or compliments even-are relevant to you.

Don't worry. I might overreacted a little bit. But i said "next time you try being such an idiot" so, i technically didn't insult you.

But like you said, let's drop it! :D

IT'S TIME FOR SHENMUE III, SEGA!

Well, as many here probably know, Alan Wake was already pirated, i did a research about what they might think about the game, since they are the first ones to play!

It's unanime: The game is amazing!
Still... critics said the main issue is: repetitiveness gameplay. I didn't see anyone complaining about it, but i can't deny this fact, cause "repetitiveness gameplay" can be analyzed differently by players!

OBS: How can Alan Wake be already pirated? It wasn't released anywhere yet!

A disk is often stolen from the disk replication plants before they are boxed and shipped, hence why most pirated versions appear weeks before release.

Well regardless of how the reviews play out I am still buying this game. It looks and sounds like an interesting title in my opinion. And since most reviews have been above 80 that lets me know that the game is good.

I currently have the limited edition pre-ordered is anyone else on here getting the limited edition of the game I think they offer enough goodies to justify the price?

So the PS3 guy thought it to back up a comment made by another ps3 guy when commenting about 360 owners on a 360 game yet showing us no actual proof.
Bet they wouldn't stand for those tatics by 360 owners in a ps3 exclusive thread.

Wow man you're obsessed about "PS3 vs. 360." Just bc ps3 is my favorite system means I can't have an opinion? Grow up. I said nothing wrong, and neither did the other guy. How is saying I expected a game (that so happens to be a 360 game) to get awesome reviews a bad thing? Stop getting your panties in a bunch.
