Forums - Sony - What if Sony Signed an exclusivity with Activision for Bungie game?

Sony doesn't buy exclusivity.. Though would be awesome at E3 if after they did their presentation they go "Oh wait, we forgot something" then the lights go dim again and a Halo-like game trailer comes on with Bungie as the developer and "Only on PS3" at the end.. heheh

But yeah, that won't happen, Activision are waaaay too greedy for that

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

Bungie could make more bautiful games if they focused on PS3 exclusives, but I doubt they will.

and Halo is not even such a good game geez!
Ps3 has a lot of good games and a lot of FPS considering the popularity of COD I doubt there is a need

we aren't dicussing how good HALO is  and how big COD is

The question is if Sony do this, how much will it help in NA where they need it and will it help get some 360 owners to buy a PS3

sony doesn't need to do this Resistance and Killzone did pretty decent!

they can make their own games, why should they pay Bungie? It will never happen

you still didn't get the point,i didn't say Resistance and KIllzone aren't good. They are,i love resistance

But Sony aren't doing as good in NA as they are everywhere else and Bungie has a good fanbase in NA which will help them there

I find this whole "Bungie Situation" remarkably amusing because I have never thought that Bungie was a particularly impressive developer; and (having played all 3 Halo games) the success of the Halo series can be attributed in a large part to the attention Microsoft brought to the series. While it is likely that a multiplatform Halo would have sold as many (or more) copies if it was released for all platforms in the last generation, I highly doubt that it would have become the poster-child for console first person shooters without being exclusive to the XBox.

i second this.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

There is almost a zero percent chance of sony signing an exclusivity deal with activision for a bungie game. Activision is a mult-platform company and if they did decide to do an exclusive it definitely wouldn't be with sony.

Has everyone forgotten a few years ago when Bobby Kotick threatened to stop releasing games for the ps3 unless sony reduced the price of the system and starting selling more software?

Also a exclusive/timed exclusive bungie title on the ps3 wouldn't have a big impact in the united states or elsewhere because most of bungie's fans have a 360. It's just like when bioware released dragon age origins on the ps3 and 360. 360 fans have a history with bioware that stretches back to the original xbox so as a result the 360 version sold a lot better and faster than the ps3 version even though some sites claimed the ps3 version was superior.

An example on the ps3 is final fantasy 13. Square enix has a longer history on sony platforms so as a result of that and because it had the superior version the ps3 version of ff 13 sold better in the west than the 360 version despite the difference in installed base.

Ridiculous, Bungie didn't leave the 360 world to end up on a smaller install base (minus JP users).

"Come on guys ! Lets loose some money to please some fanboys".

To answer the question, it depends on what you consider big ? Big like Halo ? I don't think it would be possible (no matter what the anti-halo retarded say).

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

LOL hell no. You think Sony has enough money to pay for the 10 million + Bungie fans on the 360? Fact is that even though Bungie's games may go multi-plat their real home will always be on the 360 thats where their massive fan base is.

Bungie's fanbase is because of HAlo,doesn't mean HALO fans will buy everything from Bungie.Just because HALO sold so much doesn't mean everthing else will, maybe after 1 or 2 games in the series but not at first.

I was just trying to say how Sony will be able to help themselves if they even take a few fans of Bungie to 360 in North America.

Sony would have to do something amazing to get a timed exclusive with activision because they are clearly a multiplatform company.  Besides that activision has a great relationship with microsoft and bungie has a great relationship with microsoft.  Just a few years ago activision was threatening to cut ps3 support and criticizing sony so I don't see them becoming good buddies anytime soon.
