Forums - Microsoft - On the 360 slim rumors

I imagine that they are likely true.   I also think that since the 360 start out slightly smaller than the PS3 did, that it started off with a more cramped design that it wont be able to duplicate the slimdown that tthe PS3 got.

I dont think that it will be as large of a cutdown, but I definitely think that it will be enough to equalize things for the 360 and the PS3.  It will set the PS3's catchup with worldwide HW back until 2012 is my armchair prediction.

Will this be a big thing, or just a "meh" like I think?

with reworked hardware it could be as small as the Wii if they tried hard enough. anything is possible.

They had to stack the chips on top of each other originally because they made it so small, MS probably thinks that giving them enough space this time around, would be wise. I just dont see how it could get dramatically smaller but mabey a max of 20% is my best guess.

If they shrunk the box slightly it would be cool but it would be awesome if they got rid of the power brick. Back when the PS3 fat was out everyone made fun of it for being so heavy but nobody ever mentioned the 360's power brick.

Can they even get rid of it? I thought that a brick would basically be a requirement, but also that it shrinks along with everything else thankfully.

I don't know about the original 360 being that much smaller than the ps3, the 360 had an external powerbrick...

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

Ok Tanstalas, so you are saying that getting rid of the powerbrick just means that they will insert it inside the 360? or not because a shrink as well as inserting it sounds dubious?

They could easily make it as small as the Wii, the only thing is they'd need to keep their external power brick.

So if there is a 360 slim, yeah it'll probably be slimmer than the PS3 but it'll be because they have an external power source unlike the PS3 which has everything in the unit itself.

meh = Microsoft Entertainment History

I think that everyone will be happily surprised with the design of the slim model.
thats just my two cents....if that even is two cents (two cents is the saying correct?)
