as sweet as remote play on PC sounds, I'm still not 100% sure it's very useful.
Its cool on PSP as the storage is very limited so you can stream media stored on the PS3, but surely most PCs or notebooks would be better at storing the content locally?
What besides the PSN videos could be streamed from the PS3 that couldn't just be streamed or stored from a regular PC with internet?
unless it's some kind of reverse remote play option where you can control your PC from a PS3 but even then

one option of course is integration with Sony mobile phones...now that would be awesome
I suppose I'll have to wait until may to get proper details

You can also play some PSN games with remote play. (like the pixeljunk games)

true that I suppose

although I would have thought there were far more mini-games available on PC, but yeah for PSN specific games that support remote play you've got a point

Sure its not a BIG point, but theres a couple of small points that are nice. If I were to purchase a laptop I would surely consider the vaio laptop with this function. I guess thats what Sony want, give a reason to purchase their product instead of another one to their current PS3 userbase.

check this out:

Xmb running inside the Android OS using the Playstation middleware stack:

A Closer Look at Sony’s New Skin for Android Phones

Sony Ericsson’s new Android-based phone interface, like those from other cellphone manufacturers, integrates Facebook, Flickr, Twitter and other social networking services into one unified portal on your portable. The difference is that Sony Ericsson’s interface — UXP, formerly known as Rachael — actually looks useful.

“We took a very sophisticated PlayStation middleware and shrunk it to fit the Android OS,” says Arriola.

Sony is terrible at hyping things up. The only way I found out about the Aino was when I was roaming around Wikipedia.

Usually the only news of what Sony does happens on game sites and the PSBlog for like 1 hour, and the casual gamer does not go on game sites that often =\

For ex: Heavy Rain should have gotten more consumers that it got.. but Sony had almost no ads for it

"Being single is easier on the gaming life, and the wallet."

While I agree with you, Heavy Rain is one of the worst example you could find.

Wow this is a major update to the PS3.

I love it. Trophy sorting. PC Remote Play (even though my PS3 replaced my PC) and improved Flash. Awesome.
