The whole campaign of the xbox, the reason why it was created, was to bring the focus back to PC based gaming. In direct opposition was Sony, who was trying to direct consumers into buying a console that had computer like functions. They were disrupting PCs in a sense. PSs were cheap, were focused mainly on gaming (niche), and were more reliable, but almost never rivaled pc grafx. But like the wii lesson, people didn't care, it was easier and more social than sitting at a computer. It was a livingroom activity.

Source?

His butt.

He's just trying to spin a good quarter, heck, yet another good quarter, into something bad for Microsoft.

We've been dealing with this shit for ages, it's sorta fun the reason why MS entered the videogame market, according to certain posters, changes again and again, but always with the goal of making them look bad.

I find funny btw the unsuccesful troll with 9 posts on the first page isn't banned yet. I see the forums are still run by morons.

Some hugs for the old timers still buzzin around =D

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

@squill
They could have done some more damage at the cost of taking a massive loss. This is hardly what I would call sustainable. Which is why they didn't do it obviously. They probably weighed it up at the time and decided against it.

I dont uderstand why you are saying that if they did anything other than now they would be dealing with losses. There is plenty of things they could have done, if they had bought and released Natal around launch or sooner than now. Maybe not make the launch 360 faulty, possibly loosing consumers to competition? They could be in 1st place or an even firmer 2nd place with Sony in the dust. And the list could go on forever. No one company couldnt have done atleast something differently to better their position in this gen or the las. Use your imagination.

Theres no point in 2nd guessing what they could have done differently. They made their decisions at the time given the information they had at hand at the time. Its pointless and it doesn't really add anything.

Tease.

@squill
you should have put that in there too then. By your previous statement (to me atleast) comes off as if you believe 360 has done everything perfectly and if they had done anything else they would be incurring losses, which is untrue. There is lots they could've done without going into the red. So i just thought id give my $0.02.

^^^ M$ did alot wrong wit hthe 360, such as:

- Taking too big a risk wrt to RROD, but what is truly interesting in this case, is that vaunted Toyota is getting it's ass handed to it now for a similiar situation, with far more dire consequences...so it's going to be itneresting to see the ramifications.

- Weak 1st party support and questionable plans for 3rd party support.

- Too much reliance on stock engines for software,...Unreal.

So M$ made msitakes, but inspite of all that, the EDD has produced 7 qtrs of profit, and with WinMo 7 and the new Zune HD, this division is going to start to hummm some serious profits.
