It makes sense, but I suspect that Apples price is more fragile than Microsofts. All it takes is Steve Jobs retirement for Apple to be worth half as much overnight.

The Nintendo/Sony parlels are quite amusing.  I'm guessing that's one reason why nobody has really came in here and bashed MS.

Huh?

meant to say paralels.  As in Microsoft being Sony, and Nintendo being Apple.  Since last year (or the year before) Nintedo passed by Sony.

Microsoft, though it tries again and again, just can't seem to break into new markets. They haven't conquered phones, consoles, music players, media centers, or search engines, and they don't seem to make much money on a product if they don't have monopoly control of a market.

What? So you consider the Xbox brand a failure? Last time I checked, Xbox 360 was second in the console race and sold nearly 40 million units.

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

Ahh, lol! I thought thats what you meant, but I wasn't 100% certain so I humbly and without prejudice requested clarification.

Have you seen how miserable it is compared to their Windows/Office department? It is very hilarious comparing the profit of the two departments.

OT: Sad day, Apple is a much worse company than Microsoft ever was, even back in the mid 90s.

I saw it coming, about 3 years ago.

And Mirgro, I disagree. I think the thing that makes Apple a much better company, is everyone who spends money on an Apple product, gets what they expected to receive.

You might not like what they sell, but they don't preach one thing, and deliver something else. Apple has by far the best customer satisfaction among any tech company.

MS on the other hand will release something like Vista, that works great on 80% of the hardware people buy it for, but that leaves 1 out of 5 pissed off.

As a company, I would much rather they tell me upfront that there products are something I don't want, and thus saving me money, then lie to me.

MS lies to me. Apple never has. Imo, that makes them a better company.

Apple probably deserve to be on top TBH. Microsoft hasn't added anything to their mainline products for years of any great value whereas Apple has led several revolutions with music, movies, computers, and cell phones and have innovated widely and successfully whilst adding the greatest value for the consumer. Thats the difference between what something costs and the value people get out of it.

profits-wise you could be right, but I thought you talked about the impact on the gaming world. And we can't deny the influence Microsoft has now. But yeah, when it comes to money, you are correct. btw: why don't you have a profile pic? :D
