% popularity based on debate

Brown 29%
Clegg 32% (51% last week)
Cameron 36% (26% last week)

God know whay they dont add up to 100%??

I think the Lib Dems will be happy with that as it was clearly going to be the toughest debate for them compounded with the heightened expections Clegg created for himself.

Cameron handled himself far better this week even though I don't agree with a lot of his policies (at least he proposes some unlike Brown who seems content to continously list all the different public services we have). I'm not sure whether I've just been duped in by the tv debates but I defiantely feel as though there is at least some choice on offer in this election.

After brown and darling... I'd take you as chancellor.

lol, much as I dislike Brown and Darling, Osbourne as chancellor is even more disquieting to me.

for me:

Clegg - came across best, agreed with his policys most, more nervous than last week though.

Cameron - smug, smarmy and bickered with Brown, not quite as cringe worthy to watch as last week though.

Brown - again the comfortable loser of the debate, bickered, sound bited and got beaten down on most issues by one of the others.

The ComRes poll puts Clegg on 33% with Cameron and Brown both on 30% after the debate. Looks like things will stay interesting.

Im not too suprised, I think this weeks wasnt as good to watch either, expect to see most polls either backing Clegg or Cameron with Brown last or joint last in all of them.

He seems to think Brown was bad, and thinks the "lie" story is big news too. The press will crucify Brown on that tomorrow.

he also thinks it was pretty much a draw between cameron and clegg.

yeah, Brown is hopeless, both in debate terms and as a leader, the lie story will see him down further in the polls I imagine.

and yeah, I would imagine most polls/commentators will call it either a draw or narrow win for Clegg or Cameron.

I think browns improving in his performances but not enough tbh, Clegg was yet again the winner for me but it's less a fact of clegg being good and more the other two being bad imo.

the simple fact is that markets dont like uncertainty... hung parliament = uncertainty.

the pound would get hammered and the markets would fall quite sharply, its a fact.

that, in the current economic situation, would be very bad.

What? If the pound depreciated, that could be a good thing...

a currency isnt better by being weaker... yes it can be better at lower levels... for exports for instance, but you dont want a currency collapsing.

For the UK I agree with Kowenicki that it be better off if the pound remain relatively stronger then other nations, if it was China or Japan a weak currency is what they want.

"Life is but a gentle death. Fate is but a sickness that results in extinction and in the midst of all the uncertainty, lies resolve."

the SNP and Plaid have 0 reason to be in these debates, they are NOT standing in the whole of the UK, they are not going to have any chance of winning.

A vote for Lib Dems is a vote for a hung parliament. This would result in Brown still holding considerable power.

Lesson of the day

Labour
Say no to Gordon Brown and his running down of this country. He has had 13(3) years to sort out this mess he fell in and now he finally decided we need change? Give me a break...

Lib Dems
Say no to the Euro, we want our own national identity and don't want our country run more by people in Brussels. We don't want illegal immigrants to have permenant stay in our country resulting in legitimate possible migrants being declined.
