Forums - Sony - The Fight: Lights Out promises 60fps

Looks like the unnamed "Motion Fighter" for PlayStation Move now has a title. As revealed by the PlayStation.Blog, the game is now known as The Fight: Lights Out. For the uninitiated, The Fight is the Move's take on Punch-Out!, using the camera and two Move controllers to recreate your motions in a one-on-one setting.

Producer John McLaughlin took a few jabs at the competition (read: Wii), emphasizing the visuals of his game. "There's been motion controller games out there without that graphical fidelity, and now on PlayStation 3, it truly is the platform that can deliver everything," McLaughlin stated.

The Fight undoubtedly looks better than a Wii game (as it should), but we're most excited to hear that it runs at 60fps. Obviously, one of the biggest concerns surrounding the Move is the potential for input lag. If The Fight is capable of running at such a high framerate, it better deliver a truly fluid experience. We'll definitely get our hands on an updated build at E3 later this year.

And by the way guiz, there is news that they might bundle this with something to measure the calaries you burn turning this into a workout game as well, I for one think it can reallyt work. I rather lose some calaries punching someone :P

ps: Just a reminder what we saw at the GDC was 20% complete Pre-Alpha, so it will be much better once it comes out

Wait you need 2 Moves to do this........f that.....Im not sure if I even want 1 yet.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

it still doesnt look fluid or 1:1 from any videos I have seen.
BUT this idea is solid, and there could be a big future for fighting games with move.

Not sold yet... but keeping an eye on it.

if they're true to what they're saying its 30% complete in alpha stage, so it will change drastically, that is if they're not lying.

It'll need to have 2 player split screen and online to really have maximum appeal. It's not really much more demanding in terms of peripherals than the Wii equivalent given you need 2 peripherals per person there too. The main advantage for Wii is that the Nunchuck serves both motion control analog controller purposes whereas with Move the devices are strictly separated.

For max 2 person benefit you need 6 hand held devices (only every use 4 for any one game / minigame though. Fortunately if you're cheap like me the DS3 can sub for a Nav so I'll only need to get the 4 Moves in the first instance *choke* that still sounds expensive. At least I already have the camera.

This game was the least impressive out of all the move games, hope it's improved though, need a good fighting game, punchout just didn't do it for me.

I am really interested in the Fight, it looks fun, but I have to prioritize which game I will be getting with ps move when I get it lol, right now Socom 4 is still my favorite.

I'm getting SOCOM 4 as well, but I think I'll play that with the DS3 because I'm so used to it lol. A Hot Shots Golf or Hot Shots Tennis would be killer, I hope Clap Hanz is working on it. Or Civ Rev 2, that would be great.

I don't think FPS is the issue with this game. Every video I've seen looks pretty crappy and everyone who's written about that's not under the direct employ of Sony has said that it isn't 1:1 at all. It's pre-alpha but from what they described (you swing and it does canned animations), the concept of it doesn't even seem like it'd be 1:1.
