Well, before we can predict which console KHIII will go to, people first need to think about WHEN the game will be announced AND be ready to be sold. Remember, the guy making this game said that he will start making the game AFTER FFXIII is done...and we already know that won't happen till late 2009 or even 2010!! That is 2-3 years away from now...a lot can happen till they announce the game, let alone start developing it.
One possibility would be that the PS3 would start to improve significantly after the price cut. Sure, they might not get their exclusives back....DMC 5 is now permanently going to be a multi-platform, MH3 will stay as a Wii exclusive, and GTAIV will have exclusive episodic contents for the 360. But maybe there might be future games that will stay for the PS3 and KH3 might be one of them if S-E decides that the PS3 is making enough of a progress to deem it profitable.
Another possibility would be that Nintendo might be working on Wii 2 by that time and the PS3 would stick with their 10-year plan and it might be worth it to make it for the PS3.
In my honest opinion, I believe it has a definite chance to come to the Wii, for a few reasons:
1) It's not as "hardcore" as the main FF series. Just like FFCC, it has the casual persona that is accessible to all gamers, from the young crowd like Soriku, to the older generations who love Cloud and the other FF characters. No matter what people might want to believe otherwise, the PS3 is indeed much much different from the PS1 and PS2 in that those consoles had every type of game to appeal to everybody. The PS3, on the other hand, tries to do what the 360 is doing, which is to go after the typical, small hardcore crowd....a crowd which contains even smaller amounts of KH fans. I say this because the KH fans are largely the casual gamers, not the "hardcore" gamers who are willing to spend loads of money to play games.
2) KH is different from the FF series because of Disney characters. And who loves Disney characters more? Casual to non-gamers who may watch loads of Disney movies or have kids that love Mickey? Or the "hardcore" gamers that love spilling blood in Heavenly Sword or shooting aliens in Resistance? I'll put my money on the Casuals and Non-gamers to loving Disney more. And these days, the casuals and non-gamers have already placed their money on the Wii or spending their time trying to get a Wii.
3) Graphics is not important, but accessibility. I mean really, did people love the KH series because of the graphics? If that is so, good luck having fun because you are only going to enjoy 20-30 minutes of your time at most since there were very few CG cut-scenes in the game. The game was fun not because of the graphics, but DESPITE the graphics of the PS2. The game was on the PS2 not because it had the best graphics, but because EVERYONE had one. And since right now it seems as if EVERYONE wants a Wii, it might be the right system.
If the PS3 gamers are going to say that S-E will not abandon their Sony fans by putting it on the Wii, check out Soriku. He is one of the many KH fans like me who have liked it when it was on the PS2, but have a Wii right now. I'm sorry to say, but it is not S-E who will be abandoning the fans, but Sony who have made their system inaccessible to the public except to the dedicated "hardcore" players who have loads of cash to spend just for gaming. And yes, you can say "Well, it is $400 now and its the same price as the 360 pro so isn't that good enough?!?" Well, look at the Wii. In a year, it has already passed the 360's two-year lead and its already well above it B4 the Christmas season. This shows that even a $400 tag price is STILL not a popular price tag for the majority of consumers. If Disney and S-E wants to get their money back + a profit, they know that the Wii is the place to put their game.
Sorry if this post is too long and sorry if I end up repeating somebody else since this took a long time to type up....and yes, I agree that it is a stupid reason to hate the PS3 b/c you don't want a specific game to be there and its too expensive....no console deserves to be hated...disliked or maybe not your cup of tea, but hate is such a strong word....the PS3 is a great system but it sadly could have been soooo much better in soooo many different ways.
