All this 3D stuff at the moment is a gimmick, the fact you need battery powered glasses is proof enough.

I'd suggest you simply get a normal HD tv untill the 3D technology is refined enough that you don't need glasses, or at least ones that are not battery powered.

Thanks everyone it looks like i will get an HD in the 50" range, early adoption can cost my ACER was Australian $2900 new, LED seems the the best bet so far.
