I would buy a decent 42" or 46" Tv now and hold off on 3D TV's until the second generation comes out. It will be cheaper and the kinks will be worked out. Plus with 3D, you have the added expense of the glasses to contend with right now as well.

Samsung and Sony offer fantastic Tv's for under a $1000 US right now. If you need more specifics let me know.

Holy Crap!!! You have the most impressive game collection I have ever seen. You need to upgrade that TV ASAP.

you will always be able to get more for less later. if are comfortable upgrading, then do it while you can afford it comfortably. I haven't gone the hd jump yet, but will eventually. then again with 3d coming .. yeah i know how you feel.

Not going to lie im ready to upgrade my HD 52 inch 720p/1080i tv, and i think im going to just get one of the new 3D tvs once Sony releases their models. Early adapters always get screwed but i see it as in 5 years from now ill upgrade again so F*** it ill enjoy some 3d blu ray and gaming now.

I picked up a 3D Panasonic Plasma at Best Buy last week. If you get a 3D TV anytime soon, make sure its a plasma. I tried an LCD and it was terrible. 240hz doesn't do anything for the response time on these TVs. At 4ms you can see blurs and jittering in fast moving scenes, and in 3D this looks TERRIBLE. Plasma solved these problems for me, along with better color, picture quality, etc.

For $2000 it was rather expensive. However if you apply for a Best Buy credit card before you buy the TV, you can opt for up to 30 months NO interest on the TV. 2 grand divided by 30 months is less than $70/month. This plan goes for all of their home entertainment equipment.

So of course I got an awsome TV stand, surround sound, 3D TV, extra glasses, and wiring for everything for about $100/month. Zero interest is awesome.

obviously if you have the money to freely spend on a 3d tv get one of those but dont do it till 2011, you can find tvs now that support even higher resolutions than 1080p , i would say if you have a hd tv now use it till later on next year then see whats out there , but if you desperately need to buy something out of impulse then go get yourself a 3dtv now or wait till oled tvs are in circulation.

best bet is to hold off really, there is so many new upcoming techs that will be released next year

3D is expensive with little content and the really good 3D sets which don't require glasses are coming down the pipeline anyway. Just get a larger + better screen and be done with it. LED LCD wouldn't hurt though if you're using it as a PC monitor for better blacks etc.

Tease.

If you do decide to get an LED LCD TV, try to get one with local dimming over edged lit, they look way better. Samsung and LG seem to be the best for what you pay for.
