Of course we blame the corporation. Corporations are evil. Activision is more evil than most.

I'm going to ask a very serious question that may come off as insulting... but it is very serious.

How old are you?

I mean, no offense, but you are acting as quite literally the prototypical strawman one might create if I wanted to make people blaming activision look bad.

Coporations are evil and Activision is more evil then most?

Are we to ignore how much coprorations have improved the world?  Also, hat coprorations are made up of... people?  Corporations are not Immoral.  They are Amoral.

They are neither good or bad, they are simply a collection of people trying to provide products to people.  If you made it so people could break contracts whenever they wanted... society just wouldn't work anymore.

Naw, I'd say corporations are pretty much evil.  They sometimes kill children and get away with it.  Nobody goes to jail, they just pay fines and maybe change their names if it's a PR nightmare that will hurt their bottom line.  Nike does hire local mafias to keep journalists out of their third world factories for a reason, and I don't think they're improving the world through shoes.  I wonder what goes on in there.

Activision fucked up, plain and simple.

When you have a development group that makes games that sell like MW and MW2, you shut the fuck up and give them what they want to keep them happy. The higher ups at Activision were stupid enough to think that they could impose their will upon Infinity Ward, and this is the end result.

Maybe Zampella and West wanted to secede because they wanted to move in a new direction and Activision said "no, make more MW2". Maybe they were courting EA because they weren't getting paid their bonuses. Maybe IW didn't like "pay-to-play" business practices. Maybe Activision was just being a bunch of douche bags in another way. No matter what happened, Zampella and West clearly thought they could've had it better somewhere else (or Activision was just making excuses in order to fire them). The executives at Activision clearly don't get it, IW owns their balls, not the other way around.

I'm glad that this is happening. The game industry is one of the only industries where executives can't exploit the people with talent and get away with it. Hopefully the execs learned their lesson.

Actually you'd be surpised.  You should see what third world factory workers make compaired to other jobs you can get in those countries.

The removal of child labor from countries tends to correlate with one thing... an increase in child mortality rates, because orphans no longer have the means from which to support themselves.

Furthermore, these are just a reflection of what PEOPLE want... cheap goods.  All this that Nike does is soley based on delivering to people what they want.  Cheap Shoes.

Compare this with say... Ben and Jerrys.  Ben and Jerrys is VERY socially responsible, helps out in the communities, no sweat shops etc.  Why is this?  They have a loyal customer base who both loves their Icecream and wants a socially responsible Icecream company. (And man is that Phish food icecream good.)

Corporations are nothing more but a pure reflection of what we want them to be.  The corporations that you would consider evil are "evil" soley because WE want them to be as a population.  If we said "We're going to stop buying your products until you clean up your act."   They would.   If we said to Ben and Jerrys "Your prices are too high and we aren't going to buy your product unless you find "some way" to make it cheaper."  They would.

Coprorations are as they are because we want them to be... if we had different priorties, we'd have nothing but Ben's and Jerrys.  The failing isn't the companies... it's the people... specifically people who like to scapegoat companies as unassailable dictatorships... well them and people who just don't give a damn.

Also, last I check Activision wasn't hiring hitman to kill people like Cocacola.

It should be noted.  NOWHERE do Zampella and West claim Activision weren't paying them on time.  This is a misconception created on the internet.

Damn you Activision

Ctrl + V

+a patch worth of tweaks.

Ta-da Modern Warfare 3.  Pretty much the method used for MW2.

hahahaha yeah good point. I can't argue with that.
