I have problem with both cases. Parents actually do have the right to monitor and regulate thier kids. See here is the truth - kids are young, immature, and dumb. Even the smart ones do things that seem like a good idea at the time, but are maybe not well thought out. Parents can restrict the games their kids play, and if the kid buys it over thier objections can restrict access.If  a kid misbehaves, they can restrict access. Until you are at least 18 and not relying on your parents for support you do not have total freedom.
