Forums - Microsoft - what are your splinter cell impressions?

What do you think of the new game splinter cell conviction? I only want people that have already played it,to post. I'll probably pick up my copy tommorow,I can't today. So is my $65 purchase tommorow going to be worth it. I've played all the other splinter cell games, with the exception of the last one. I loved them all. What's different about this game?

what nobody is playing this game? lol

I will be picking it up this weekend, hopefully I will have finished Mass Effect 2 by then so I will have time to play it...

After hearing my friend tell me he finished it in a disappointing four and a half hours and that it was going 'back to gamestation' in the morning. I decided not to pick it up.

I thought it sucked from the Demo, but man was i wrong.

This game is the shit!

The shortest, easiest, automated single player experience in my life. 4 hours 20 minutes on the normal setting. Repeating the same strategy over and over, they get in a group throw a frag because the AI too stupid to run away fast enough. Take a guy down, mark three, take another guy down, mark three and repeat.

The game is alot more action orientated then the old ones. There's no "alarms" that you have to avoid ( except one level where you must avoid detection until you blow up generators ) then its back to take a guy down, mark three and repeat. The story was really good but, the game lacks good detail, some cover issues, (it felt rushed) and little to no stealth (So fans of the older ones 1-3 don't expect much gameplay wise because its not the same splinter cell you know). Im so disappointed.

Man.

I got mine early today in the UK. It's not supposed to be out here till Friday. LOL. Good thing our post system is nice and early sometimes. LOL.

I am finding it very hard. I'm on the hardest though. On the demo ( normal setting ) they just stood there, didnt really do much. Try the hardest setting. Jesus. Hate when people say a game takes 5 hours, when they play it on easy. LOL. I reckon about 7 hours on the hardest. Shorter than some games yes. But I'd rather 7 hours of Conviction than 40 hours of FF13.

Game is pretty fun. You can do some pretty impressive stuff. Mark 3 guys, grab a 4th as a shield, execute the three, then break the guys neck.

I am on the level where you have to avoid guys tailing you and then kill them from the shadows. If you are seen, it is game over.

Its amazing, its like a non-stop action packed movie!!! Totally immerses you into the game as if you are actually Sam Fisher! I love that totally new innovative idea of visualising the story told and the objectives projected onto the environment, so it does not interrupt any gameplay!

On easy it would have taken 3+ hours. I only died 3 times on my first play through. The game gets repetitive and for a short game its not good. Hell you don't get the trademark goggles until the the last hour of the game and even then there useless. I love the story though, its great from start to finish. I was hoping for Chaos Theory type game play but you won't find it here.
