Forums - Gaming - Why Shooters Are Better on Wii

Well my definition of a good controller is one that makes the inputs as easy as possible for the user to achieve what they are trying to achieve.

So by this definition Mouse + Keyboard stands head and shoulders above the rest of the field for an FPS.

lol point and shoot games rule, ps move will join the party soon, the wiimote has new competition

it's the future of handheld

PS VITA = LIFE

I have yet to see a pure FPS shooter designed only for Wii at a high budget and polish, so even though I like the Wii a lot, I'll have to say that you can't even have a true comparison to those other higher budget games on other platforms.

lol dripping sarcasm, does that even exist or did you just make it up??
Anyway like it or not the ps move is competition to the wiimote, and it all starts witha game called Socom 4 followed by RE5, ah it's so nice to know we are getting hardcore games for the Ps Move.

Do you really think that an add-on for a third place console is really going to make developers jump on ship?

Oh wait, if they haven't jumped on ship with the most popular console on the market, maybe they were just holding out.

In my opinion:
Mouse&Keyboard are still the most precise and efficient way to control FPS, it works perfectly.
Wiimote is not more realistic, matter of fact it focuses on the sensor bar it's not like 1:1 aiming on screen (I remeber the G-con), but on the other hand I find it more fun to use, it gives you the feel of shooting, also it's still a way more accurate than the dual analog system (Metroid Prime is a sufficient proof) while it's as ergonomic as normal gamepad (and not like a keyboard) plus it doesn't constrain you to play on a desk. Using the wiimote patches for example I could play PC fps's on a 32" TV insted of on a 17" monitor.

Finally, it won't work well only on FPSs but on any action game involving shooting like Gears Of War,Uncharted,Lost Planet,Dead Space ( a real one not like extraction)

First off, it's your own fault if you're playing on a 17" monitor. Most real gamers have moved on well past that point. It's a matter of distance, not size.

What you find "more fun" is exactly the problem with this article. It's an opinon. Personally, I want to agree with you but the fact remains that no developer has developed a game that rivals Halo/Counter-Strike/UT/whatever in accessibility and overall challenge. YOU may like that but the fact remains that the Wii is a piece of shit when it comes to online gaming, no matter how you feel about the game. It's crap. No, I take that back. IT IS SHIT.

Was that imflammatory enough? It offers the same level of connectivity that I had in 1994. It's crap. Until Nintendo pulls its head out of its ass, I'll hold that opinion hard and fast.

LOL.

1st. Actually I was talking about interfaces not online gaming.

2nd. If online gaming it's the only thing you seek, get some friends (in real life I mean)

3rd. About the monitor, It's not like a real gamers are defined by how much money they get form their daddies. And actually the distance/size thing you say is bullshit, try to play a game staying 20cm far to a 3" screen, tell if it is the same thing as playing on a normal monitor with an higher distance.

4th. If we talk about opinions, I'm glad that no developer has made a game like Halo at the moment beacause seriously THAT IS SHIT.

Was that inflammatory enough?

Lol they already have started making games for the ps move, just look at the official thread to see just how many games have been made so far in just a little time, some of them admitedly will be better than others for example I expect Socom 4 to be one of the better offerings, no doubt it will have it's own shovelware as well like move party.

Sorry developers are not just happy with wii, hence incoming wii ports for a small time, if they are successful, we can expect to see more resource's dedicated to ps motion games.

Actually, there is a "perfect" distance from a screen. It's actually quite factual and if you want to get into it, I'll be more than happy to do so.

Or you can Google it.

BTW, way to pull up the "daddy" card. Trust me, I'm way older than you and I buy my own goodies, kiddo. If you REALLY want to play that, you just picked the wrong poster.

BTW, if you want to talk interface options, I'm more than happy to argue that.

When I see a real third party game built around Natal or Move, I'll eat these words.

The thing is that I'll never eat these words and you'll be long gone before you admit that you're wrong.
