Yeah but we're talking about the textures at the moment, without the usage of lightning etc, the simple textures.

The textures are better in GOW3. Enough said. The textures of GOW 3 are better than the textures of MGS4.

Do the same? You are asking me to look at the evidence that you provided. These are pics from GoW3 when it was still in development. I know what GoW3's walls and MGS3's wall look like. What do you want me to do? Lie and say that MGS3 has better wall textures? It doesn't. Which side are you on? You start off talking about your crazy classmate and his crazy observation. Now, it seems that you want us to agree with him.

I have to say it, GOW3 textures are nothing impressive and the jaggies are everywhere. Still a great game but things like hair etc just looks horrible. GOW3 is overrated in my opignion. MGS4 graphics are way better btw.
