Forums - Gaming - Modern Warfare 3 held up by Activision/Infinity Ward lawsuit

According to court papers outed over the weekend, Modern Warfare 3’s development is being held up over the lawsuit issued to Activision by ex-Infinity Ward heads Vince Zampella and Jason West.

The firm’s biggest issue with the pair, as noted in the papers found by Kotaku, says that West and Zampella’s attempts to start a new studio while under contract with Acti and Infinity Ward were “delaying pre-production of Modern Warfare 3,” and that the two were using it as “leverage in their negotiations with Activision”.

Last week, Activision filed a countersuit against the one already issued by Zampella and West, with the firm claiming they were “insubordinate and self-serving schemers” who negotiated with other companies.

One of those could have been EA, with rumour suggesting the firm placed a million dollar bounty for either one of the former heads at Infinity Ward.

The lawyer that represents West and Zampella said the Activision allegations in the countersuit had made the firm “lose sight of the reality.”

The full batch of papers can be found through here.
