I haven't played in over a year and today I decided to check on my old account. Since I haven't played in so long I had to merge my account with a B.net account. I was shocked to see that my account was already merged. Whats more I armoried my character to see someone is playing it on the same server without changing my original name! Is there anyway I can get my account back or am I screwed?

do you know your secret password?
If anything you can also call up blizz and as long as you know the name of your account and secret pass you should be able to get it back. One thing someone hacked your account won't know is the full name on the account

Just call Blizzard. My account was hacked a few months back and Blizzard had my account returned, with a bunch of extra Frost Emblems and a free 2k gold for my troubles within 20 minutes of calling them.

Wow, that is amazing. Someone has been playing your account for a whole year. I'm betting they're gonna be really pissed when you take it back. But yeah, if secret password doesn't work just call Blizzard or email them.

thanks for replys. I called Bliz they got my acc back for me since I knew secret questions and email address. I feel bad though, the guy was on during the time when Blizz kicked him off lol. I also have free month of gamecard on my acc now too and it looks to be geared up since last year.

Best of luck - it took 1 month for my mate to get his active account back. Blizzard tend to be a bit retarded when it comes to this by basically assuming it is the fault of the user for not being security conscious. Battlenet merging is a real security risk because if yr email account gets hacked you can be up for a double whammy, so to speak. Exactly what happened with my mate.

If you have an iPhone there is a free app that allows for 2 factor WoW authentication. Alternatively, Blizzard now offer the service, at an addition one off charge, I believe.

I should check my account... maybe i'm now a LVL 80 with all legendary equipment ^^

(stopped with 2 lvl70 and one 65 on burning crusade... got a 6 month extention with the upgrade and barely played 4 months).
