Just read the review and this game is going to be incredible. The game play appears to be near perfect and the re-playability seems to be very high. Can't wait to pick it up.

maybe this only make sense to people who aren't extreme fanboys.
but HEAVY RAIN has individual scores that equal to final score. While SC has NO individual scores equal to final score, they are all less than final scores.
Does that make sense now? or am I just wasting my time here? |
Yeah, aren't you the one who said the review was biased because it came out early (ala GTA IV)?
Maybe you've never heard of something being greater than the sum of its parts?

The story is an amalgamation of different seasons of 24, but it's nice to see Sam so angry. 8.5 Graphics Nice animations. Gritty but good-looking environments. The framerate occasionally dips, but it's nothing major. 9.0 Sound Michael Ironside does a great job reprising his role as Sam Fisher. The enemies have some nice quips. Solid musical score. 9.0 Gameplay Stealth is fast and fun. Mark & Execute is a great addition. The AI is excellent if you play on Realistic difficulty. 8.0 Lasting Appeal The single-player and co-op campaigns are short, but there's a lot of other things to do. And you'll probably want to play through everything more than once. 9.3 Outstanding OVERALL how does that make it a 9.3? isnt that a 8.7 for overall? I know Im not the first one to mention it though |
"It's important to note that the overall rating is not an average of the five individual categories. We believe that no game will ever fit into a simplistic numeric formula. Many titles are more than a sum of their parts, so the overall score is left to the judgment of the reviewer. This gives you a better sense of the reviewer's overall experience with the game rather than forcing our editors to use an average to determine the final rating for games of multiple types."

The game can be played and beaten in many ways. In fact, it's one of the only games to allow so many different outcomes. Is a little strange, but it makes sense considering the content. |
the beginning that was awesome the first time seems like it would be a bit monotonous on a second and third play through

yeah i basically beat it in 4 hours 30 min first play through so i think its save to say its a 5 hour game |
comaparing SC:Convoction to uncharted 2 is not in your favor
Ive beaten Uncharted 2 many times now and the only time ive gotten a 4:45 playthrough time was on very easy while skipping all the cutscenes to get all the treasures, at its minimum on a first playthrough its like 9 hours, i put 11 on my first.
Neways Now we should go back to talking about SC,
After watching the video review the game looks awesome, gameplay looks fantastic and theres replay value in the co-op. we love plenty of other shooters and action games that have 5 hour campaigns(uncharted 2 is not one of them), so we should embrace this one too.

There's no way you can compare Mario and Final Fantasy XIII.

Yes.
One is fun and simple to play that last about 6 hours.
The other is you press a single button, complicated and last 40 hours.
Ill take Mario over FF13.
But to be fair i havent played FF13 yet, i did see a friend play it.
"This game is nothing like the past Splinter Cell"
"I never played a Splinter Cell game more than twice"

It's relabeling something totally different, with a well known name, so you can get sales. There is a difference between adapting and evolving, to simply just killing and replacing. Fuck Ubisoft, they've disappointed me with Double Agent, Prince of Persia, and Assassin's Creed. Hopefully the return to the SoT style of PoP will renew faith in me again... but I doubt it. |
You might have a point, except the part about "the properties that were represented by it are all gone."
