PC gaming is dying.. well maybe not dying but the once such great things about PC gaming are dissapearing.. dedicated servers aren't a gaurantee anymore, higher priced games and games are being made for consoles then for PC instead of the other way around..

yes to a point it is dying. but games like WOW and other MMORPGs are keeping it alive. and last i checked blizzard only charges 50 for its games and the expansions i think are 40 i think but im not sure on teh expansions. i know i wont buy a normal pc game anymore cause of it. if they made games just for pc's they would get alot of money for it but i think alot of piracy is cause games are so expensive.

Im on steam now.. and the only game that was 60 bucks was MW2, and it sits at 50 now. Most new games on here (steam), and future releases is within $29-$49. Atleast the top tier games like BFBC, Metro 2033, C&C4, Borderlands etc.

But i agree.. now PC game should be $60 on Steam, or any other DD service. And piracy, atleast for me, is only because the game isnt worth the price, but im bored and i want something to play and kill a few hours. But i dont have any problem spending cash on minigames or games that i feel justify their pricetag.

if they put the majority of games for the pc at 60 pc gaming would be dead already. the reason they dont do that is cause there are alot of mods to older games like HL2 which by the way left for dead is a mod somewhat and is running off of that engine. TF2 is also running off the same engine. alot of the FPS games runs off of what half life 2 did when it first came out so many years ago. so to charge that much for pc games you would be asking for pirating to get worse then it already is. just ask adobe how their efforts to keep from being pirated is going. their stuff is expensive as everything. MW2 wont jump in pc sales till it hits about 20-30 dollars or is in the discount section at target or walmart. more or less target. walmart likes to keep old popular games a long time at high prices. they were still selling MW for 50 when MW2 came out. but yet i paid 40 for it at gamestop a year after it was out.

what makes me mad is people like you saying they shoudl charge that price for alot of game or even on steam. that is exactly why there is pirating. i take it you buy your music still via cd at $20 a cd too huh??

Its stupid, Anyone who bought a $500 or $600 console at launch should NOT be talking about complaining about Money

Anyone who spends money to PLAY online should NOT be complaining.

Anyone who spends over $700 for a super 1337 chip set to run the latest and greatest games should NOT be complaining about a 10 dollar increase on games.

Yep.

Solution- don't buy them at full price.

Fuck Ubisoft and their ridiculous DRM as well. Wait until they're $15 or below- email them and tell them why you're not buying at $60. They'll soon get the message.

Once more, in case it ain't getting through- DON'T BUY $60 GAMES.

Say what? I dont want high priced games? Am i missing something?

Actually PC gaming is more alive than even consoles. What is dying is paid PC gaming. Hundreds of millions people play Facebook games and other flash games. Most PC gamers just don't like buying games when they can get something already fun enough to them for free, although they are more casual than anything else.

I've pirated every PC game that's cost $60 that I planned on buying thus far. =)

There is no excuse to charge $60 for PC games. PC gamers already spend enough on their rigs, and there's no royalty fee to the console manufacturer when you buy a PC game. If they think that charging $60 is going to make up for rampant piracy they're wrong, because PC gamers don't like getting the short end of the stick.

Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d

Every so many years Translink(my local transit management group) increases fares. This has caused an increase of riders avoiding to pay transit. With that Translink hires more officers and ways to stop it. moves the costs to the consumer. Then increases the fair skipping. Current fairskipping is as high as ever and there answer is to do more methods that cost money and end up charging more.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

How many PC games do you a buy a year? I buy on average nearly 20. A 10$ increase means 200$, I upgrade my PC once every 3 years or so so that's how much? 600$? That's enough to get a PS3 at launch or a very good graphics card for my PC.

I wouldn't be so mad if we got some awesome new features with our games but no, we're getting stripped of using dedicated servers, of modding our games and getting strangled with evermore intrusive forms of DRM and we're paying 10$ more for the privlege of dropping our pants.
