jneul said: sigh, here we go... people who are moaning about linux removal are being a bit short sighted, if they can't see Sony did this to protect us all from hackers, then they are truly blinded, if you like spyware, viruses and having personal information stolen way to go for you. I think GeoHotz should pay this bill, Go Sony!! |
This is a good one, Sony is our shield from teh bad guyz! This probably one of the more polite responses you'll see Damnyouall, but good on you for posting this. Bold, brave decision. Good luck to you!

Thanks. Yeah, funny, Sony protecting us, hahaha. This almost makes me think some people are brainwashed.
The fact remains that taking away Other OS was wrong (morally, legally), no matter from what perspective you look at it, and it won't stop any hacks. Sony should just reverse their decission before it costs them a whole lot of money. I wonder why some companies find it so hard to admit a mistake and only learn the hard way.

OH NO!
Because what... like less than a percent of PS3 users actually USE OtherOS?
Dude, give it up, you don't care about OtherOS. I've seen you post, all YOU want is too see the PS3 being able to play pirated games.
If you cared about OtherOS that much, you'd be much more concerned on WHY they took it away in the first place.

It's a conspiracy lol, I bet none of the moaners was bothered about OtherOs lol, in fact I bet lots of people will jump on the claims bandwagon for the amazon deal even tho they don't even use linux on their ps3, that is the trouble you see

Whether they actualy used it is irrelevant. The fact is that up until fw3.21, anyone could at any time have decided to use it. Maybe they weren't using it now, but who knows what they might have decided down the track. When people sue for being injured for example. They don't sure for just the current effects of the injury but for any permanent effects which is entirely to do with the future efects of the injury. It's the same deal here- it's not just the current losses that are in question, but any future ones as well.
