Because those are what I find when I look for first weekend/week sales.

Your first link says they sold up to 700,000 in the first weekend, but the second link says it took 74 days to hit a million. Hmm...

I do not remember where I heard it, but I did hear that the opening weekend sales on the iPhone was around 200,000 units.

I do not think it will take 74 days for them to sell there first million iPads. The point if my post was Montana found the sales of the iPhone impressive, and I just wanted to point out that early on, the iPad is trending to outsell it.

I bet anywhere from 90-95% of those apps downloaded were free.

Also 450k people just got swindled out of $500 by buying an iPod Touch with a bigger screen.

I've gotta say, if it was closer to e-Reader/iPod Touch price, I'd definitely buy one. $300 or under before I consider it a worthy product to justify it for my needs. If I didn't already have a crazy good smart phone with tons of Apps, then maybe I'd shell out as much as $400-450, but seeing as I do have those things, the "new" value of buying this product isn't there. Mostly a few quick apps and e-Reading would be my usage for it. Would be good for plane trips, for sure, though!

Oh, well I was going with the other numbers. If the statistic you provided is true, I'm very impressed. And my post was really just an excuse to yell at Mirgro for trolling (again!).

If I recall, Apple had to drop the price of the iPhone pretty quickly, so I'm guessing the second article is more accurate than the first.

That's a lot of sheep...
