Def Jam Rapstar Coming This Fall
Konami is set to distribute the multiplatform rap game.

Def Jam Rapstar, which was announced last year and then largely fell off the grid, finally has a distributor and a release window. Joystiq reports that Konami will be handling the distribution, and it's planned for release sometime this fall. The game is said to consist of more than 40 songs, including selections from 2 Pac, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Wu Tang Clan, and more. It will release on Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
We may have seen some stalling on a release date due to the stumbles of music games in the past year. DJ Hero, which set out to forge its own path in the genre, was generally regarded as a sales disappointment. We were skeptical about the game when it looked like a direct competitor to DJ Hero, but it seems Def Jam Rapstar will be an entirely different animal. Hopefully it has better luck.
