Of those two, FF13 is going to give you much more bang for your buck. Only buy it if you're a fan of RPG's (especially the other FF games) and you're willing to expect some HUGE changes to the franchise. It's all I play right now but I admit it's not right for everyone.

Like Leoj said, Uncharted 2 would be more of a "wow, that was awesome!" experience that anybody can pick up and enjoy. If you are at all interested, I'd go with that. But of the two you mentioned, both are less than main stream titles and both rock hard. You're going to have a blast!

And put aside some time for the obligatory "update". If your first day with the PS3 is anything like my first day with the PS3, you ain't playing anything today!!

Get MGS4. You have no other option.

I'd say Heavy Rain.

You usually should buy shorter games before buying longer ones.

Heavy Rain but God of War III I'd say mostly.

Buy MGS4, you won't regret it.

My brother and I live in different apts now so I see little Ps3 time now. I really liked Valkyria Chronicles. Uncharted 1 was solid, so either of them should be fine. Not a big GOW fan myself, but response has been strong so if you like the series seems fine. I liked Rstchet and Clank also. But I am an old nerdy plarformer/Mario fan so take that into account.

So? Is he not allowed FF13 on the PS3 since it's on the 360?
